Combine the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla in a bowl. Add this to the dry ingredients beating on medium until the cupcake batter is smooth. Gradually add the boiling water, milk, and oil and blend until the batter is smooth. Using a medium scoop, fill the paper-lined cupcake tins with the prepared batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool slightly before transferring to wire racks.

Cauldron Ingredients:  – 1 8oz package of black fondant – 1 8oz package of neon green fondant – 1 tube of neon green frosting – 1 piping bag with star Wilton tip – 1 package of fondant tools

Cauldron Directions:  Pinch off about 2 tbsp of the black fondant and roll into a ball.  Using the ruffle fondant tool (It has a round ball at the end), push into the middle of the black ball.

Work it a bit by using the same tool to create a deep hole in the center.  Using your fingers, mold the ball into a cauldron and create a little rim of the cauldron. Using the neon green fondant, pinch off 2 tsp and roll it into a ball. Repeat the last step with the neon green fondant and create different-sized balls.

Squeeze the frosting into the piping bag with a star tip and pipe a dollop into the center of the cauldron. Place the neon green balls around the green frosting to create a bubble look in the frosting. Set your cauldrons aside.

Buttercream Frosting  ingredients:  – 2 C unsalted sweet cream butter, softened – 4 C powdered sugar – 2 tsp vanilla extract – 6 tbsp heavy whipping cream – Red gel food coloring – Orange gel food coloring

– Place the piping bag into a large glass and fold the sides of the bag over the rim of the glass. Scoop the red frosting into one side of the piping bag and the orange on the other side. Bring the pastry bag edges up and twist them together. – Add a 1 mm star tip to your bag. – If you don’t have a piping bag, try a plastic bag with the tip snipped off.

Cauldron Cupcake Tutorial:  You will need your cooled chocolate cupcakes, fire frosting, cauldrons, and 2 C Halloween sprinkles.

Using an ice cream scooper, scoop a mound of white frosting onto the top of the cupcake and smooth it into a thick round disk. Don’t go all the way to the edge of the cupcake. Then take the cupcake and dip it into the sprinkles, so you fully coat the frosting in sprinkles.

Pipe a dollop of the red and orange frosting in the center of that to create a “flame” look.

Carefully place the cauldron in the center, and you are done. Let your little witches and warlocks go crazy with their tasty treat!
