How to Make Santa belt cupcakes for Christmas

A monkey on a cupcake

Kids love Santa because he brings presents  - it is that simple. Adults love him because he’s magical and gives us hope in the darkest of times.

– Yellow cupcakes already baked and cooled down to room temperature – Red frosting – Black fondant for the belt & buckle – Gold glitter for buckle – Mini marshmallows, cut into quarters, for beard – if desired

INGREDIENTS:

Using a Wilton 1A tip pipe frosting on the cupcake and tap gently to  create round belly rolls for Santa’s body.  Less “pointy” is a good  thing. The tap is what also popped my bubbles… ugh. Click the link below to see full recipe.

Roll a small piece of fondant into a rectangle shape and cut lengthwise  to create the desired number of equal size belts for your cupcakes.

Lay the belts horizontally across the cupcake.

Gently press black fondant buckles into the gold glitter.

Place the buckle in the center of the belt –  a tiny bit of water on your finger can act like the “glue” to hold it in place.
